SNAKES IN OUR FOREST

“Rev Tchapo Innocent (between 2 men in ties) with his colleagues"

Malawi is one of those countries most people never think about. If I tell you it borders the nations of Zambia and Mozambique would that help? How about this? Malawi is a southeastern African nation located south of Tanzania. It just doesn’t get easy for this small country, shaped like a long finger and sided by long Lake Malawi, which accounts for 1/5 of its land space. Once part of the British realm, Malawi today is nearly self-sufficient in food production.

At a time when more than 90% of our international correspondence takes place through the internet, we received Rev. Tchapo Innocent’s handwritten half sheet lined letter in August of 2004. Another Indiana ministry, Helping Hands Mission, had encouraged Rev. Innocent to contact us. “I am your brother in Jesus, ministering to 5 church assemblies - 3 in Malawi and 2 in Mozambique. The major problem I encounter in ministry is lack of materials. With your help, many sinners will convert to Christ. Please assist me with anything you might have there.”

Later he wrote, “I have shown your letter, offering Media Helps, to the entire church, and they are very thankful to you. You have given us hope, and you have multiplied our joy in serving our Lord Jesus. I am ministering in rural areas, many of which have never before had the Gospel preached. The Lord has given me a great desire to take the Gospel to the lost. Be assured that with audiovisuals in my hands many sinners will come to Christ.” Isn’t that exciting?

The equipping process was greatly delayed by the evil one. An ugly conflict occurred, but God prevailed through a phone call from an American saint who knew the full story. Praise God we finally got back on track. “Torch Kit tools can work very effectively here. We usually work in small villages far from towns, and there is no electricity. As the Torch Kit operates with a 12-volt battery, it can greatly help us.”

“Rev Innocent waving goodbye to family as he goes off on another AVangelism Program.”

By late October 2006, our package finally arrived safely in his hands. “I am so grateful to inform you I have received your box of audiovisual materials, and I did not have to pay Customs fees to receive it. Already this good news has spread to our area villages very quickly. Yesterday, 13 people came to visit me just to see the Torch Kit. My wife, Chrissy, also is excited with me for these helps. We both love the Lord and thank Him. It is a very great thing to us to possess these ministry tools.”

“Children reached with the Gospel through Rev Innocent ’ s Ministry."

“We enjoy using the Torch Kit because every time we use it, people are coming to the Lord. The story, SNAKEBITE, is having a powerful ministry here, as there are so many snakes in our forests. Even my son and daughter recently were bitten by snakes, but God has allowed them complete recovery.”

2 AVangelism Reports have been received, listing 88 showings to 5,460 people with 456 souls seeking Jesus Christ. Thank you for making this kind of ministry possible. It may be low-tech, as we say, but the power of the Holy Spirit to convict unto salvation knows no limit when honoring His messenger of the Gospel. Please pray for Tchapo and Chrissy Innocent and this dynamic ministry in Malawi.

INTERCOMM - NEW AIR CONDITIONER NEEDED

Now that all the roof repair has been completed, we have been notified our very old air conditioner needs to be replaced at a cost of $6,000.  Our electrician kept it working through last summer, but parts are not available for this model to maintain it through summer 2009.

WORKING HARD IN SYRIA

A pastor, who must go unnamed, recently wrote, “I’m 71 years old and have worked for more than 50 years as a volunteer for Christ. I sadly say that through these years many are the enemies of our Lord and the Cross of Christ. Their god is their belly, and their glory is their shame, because they seek earthly pleasures. I’m working so very hard for our Lord here in Syria, and the 7 DVD’s you are offering with 15 drama films, in the Arabic Language are going to be a great blessing for this ongoing ministry. I was glad that you specialize in worldwide AVangelism, because it was also one of my major goals with the people I work with. I desire to pursue the work of true AVangelism, especially with full integrity before God, who is always with us until the end of the age.”

FISHING VILLAGES

Evangelist Ezekiel Udoh from Rivers State, Nigeria shared:

“I just returned from a 2-week outreach to rural communities in the republic of Cameroon. We visited 5 fishing villages and were using boats to get from place to place, as we shared Christ with them. We had 3 Crusades, and many people gave their lives through a combination of video and Torch Kit ministry.”

He sent a Report of 41 showings to 12,542 people with 1,459 coming to salvation.

ONLY TELEGU VIDEO DISKS

Evangelist Thumati Kumar of India writes:

“Enclosed is my 7th Media Report. I would like to inform you that the Telugu Language video disks are a great encouragement to my ministry. One day, following a ministry showing a woman came to me and asked me to pray for her. As I was praying, she was weeping and weeping. So I asked her why. She told me PILGRIM’S PROGRESS in the Telugu Language had deeply touched her heart. She was a Hindu woman. She just came with her friends to watch and enjoy the video show, but she did not come expecting it would impact her life. Now she wanted to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior. These days we are only using the Telugu Video Disks in our audiovisual ministry.”

He reported 22 showings to 456 people with 22 responding for salvation.

A PILGRIM’S PROGRESS
by Lane Anderson

Graduating from high school for most of us is a highlight movie reel moment - yet quietly nagging in our conscience are life realities. What’s next? My generation was expected to rush off to college, but I didn’t feel quite ready. I was pretty certain I would study business thanks to a senior year change in major, but where? When? Was I ready? Having committed me to the Lord as a child, my parents were obviously sensitive to my spirit. “How would you like to travel around the world with me and crew on 4 Film Projects this fall?”, my dad offered. What a startling answer to my current need. After I picked myself up off the floor, caught my breathe, and made sure this wasn’t a dream, I quickly agreed.

Overnight this journey of steps became a journey of thousands of miles, multiple continents, cultures, 4 new productions, and many life-changing moments!

I Corinthians 2:9 tells us, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.” This verse was just about to be put to the test in my life, and I would never be the same again.
