Rev
Badini KS Silas from Burkino Faso |
|
Rev Badini KS
Silas from Burkino Faso,
a small west African nation, inquired in mid-2001 whether InterComm
could help him fulfill his audiovisual vision. The Lord sends
international contacts our way through a variety of sources. Rev.
Silas had been referred to us by friends at the literature ministry,
World Missionary Press in northern Indiana (www.WMPress.org).
He included a short note, as he returned our Information Sheet,
detailing his audiovisual interest.
“We are praying
God for you that our relationship may lead to the salvation of many
souls in our country. My province consists of 9 departments. Our
local department includes 38 villages. Few know the Lord here as
Islam is spreading rapidly. In obedience to God, we desire to bring
the Gospel to our nation, village by village, beginning in our
department. We believe we can be best effective using
Filmstrips, Video, and Scripture Booklets."

Village Evangelism with
the
Torch Kit |
|
|
In 2002 a Torch
Kit was on the way, and the following year he was ready to receive
our French Language videos. Rev Silas has remained a
faithful communicator, sending Reports at least twice a year.
Showings are usually to groups of 20 to 100 people of all ages. Not
every showing bears immediate fruit in souls, but often 1 or 2 and
sometimes 10 or 20 people respond to the salvation opportunity. On
a recent Report he shared, “This campaign took us to villages
with a strong Muslim opposition. Few people responded, but we are
committed to continue presenting Christ through this great media.
The Torch Kit is very important to our ministry.”
Rev Silas and his
team have averaged over 60 programs a year, and God has blessed them
with 298 souls led to Christ.

Solomon Benjamin, Executive Director of southern India’s YMCA,
has agreed to serve as Project Coordinator. He is enthusiastically
supported by this diverse group of participants. Initially, the
films JOURNEY TO THE SKY, ELEPHANT BOY, and RAINBOW have been chosen
with 2 others to be finalized within this month. InterComm is also
evaluating carefully with the Committee the possibility of putting
the Indian film, JOURNEY TO THE SKY, the true story of India’s most
famous Christian, Sadhu Sundar Singh, into 2 other south Indian
languages. Please pray with us as we develop our Project Proposal
and put it before those individuals, organizations, and foundations
God might use to help fund this important Project.
WE ASK FOR YOUR
HELP IN REACHING CHURCHES
InterComm is
helping churches present and reinforce the Gospel message in new and
exciting ways through our PraisePointsTM worship
presentations. PraisePointsTM are concise and powerful,
Biblical multi-media presentations that touch the heart. They are
currently being used for worship services, Bible studies, small
group presentations, one-on-one counseling, visitors displays,
welcome areas. Here are just a few comments from various ministries
regarding PraisePointsTM.
“The PraisePointsTM
presentations are powerful, well done, and professional. I am very
pleased with the impact they have had on my congregation.”

“I have yet to
see a ministry tool that is comparable to PraisePointsTM”
- Kerry Oberbrunner, author of JOURNEY TOWARDS RELEVANCE
“When I saw the
first PraisePointsTM presentation, I saw it was

ENCOURAGING
OTHERS
Evangelist Robert
Kargbo of Sierre Leone
writes:
“This Filmstrip
Ministry is a great blessing to me. Recently a village section
chief was attracted by the drama story, FAITH’S FAMILY. After
watching the story, he accepted Jesus Christ and is now encouraging
others to do likewise. This area is not easy for us to see souls
come to Christ, but through the help of this Kit, we are
experiencing changes.”
His Report has
517 viewers with 31 accepting Christ.
MY CHURCH HAS
DOUBLED
Rev. Pauli Assuah
of Ghana
writes:
“Since I started
showing these video films, the response from the public has been
very encouraging. My church has doubled in attendance. Many young
people have been won to the Lord. Other churches within my area
have also grown in size. There has been a real revival in this area
through audiovisual media.”
He had a Report
of 7 showings to 1,907 with 330 responding.
HEARTBEAT
by Ken Anderson
How do I bridge
the gap between a promise in the Bible and its reality in my daily
experience?
I’ve been
wrestling with that question for a long time. I’m not talking about
those principles in the Bible by which we are guided. Honesty,
forbearance, love, compassion, patience - God intends these and many
other virtues to become integral to our lifestyles as Christians.
But I’m talking
about those times when we need to make a decision or seek a course
of action. We turn, let’s say, to the classic of all guidance
verses, Proverbs 3:5,6.
How does it
become a reality? What disturbs me, of course, are those times when
I have encountered Christians, claiming to have God’s guidance - but
then using that alleged “guidance” to run roughshod over others in
the promotion of their own best interests.
Is there a still,
small voice by which we know God’s mind for us? Might it be that,
just as no 2 snowflakes are identical, so God does not deal with any
2 of His children in a parallel manner?
Of one thing I am
sure. I cannot have God’s mind, as we say, and be jealous or
envious. I do not walk in His will by taking advantage of another.
In short,
whatever God’s way of guidance to me personally, to you, certainly a
valid test of that guidance consists of being sure what I do is in
harmony with the clearly enunciated concepts and principles recorded
in the Word of God!
