WINNING MY WORLD
“Some people are
better able to understand the Gospel with the help of audiovisuals.”
These were the first words written us by Miss Prisca Miriam
Hyligar of St. Kitts in the Caribbean, following her media
training at the Haggai Institute in Maui. “Since my return from
Maui, I have begun using video, the Overhead Projector, and even
audio cassettes to increase
evangelism
responses. I believe audiovisuals will reach a wider audience. My
new vision includes taking media ministry to the streets. I’m
planning outreach on ball fields and even hard courts in an effort
to win MY WORLD for CHRIST.”
A selection of
media reached Prisca in late 2000. Immediately she began ministry,
first in her church, then Sunday school, then at local schools, and
even later invited young people into her home. “I thank you for
these videos, because they bring the message of salvation to youth
in a way they can easily understand. One recent showing, for
example, was to a large group of students from a local
school. About
100 young people indicated their desire for salvation. I really
enjoyed the discussions that follow each media showing and the
wonderful opportunity to lead young people to the Lord. I wish to
express to InterComm and everyone who supports this work profound
thanks for the part each of you play in this revival.”

BIG IMPACT
Pastor Fuataeli
Munisi from Tanzania
writes:
“I just could not
wait to bring a Report of what the film ministry is doing in our
local area. Jesus is good. We have an evangelistic team of 14
committed Christians. Your films are bringing a big impact on the
young people. We carefully evaluate the film we are going to show,
and then discuss the message we should bring for each specific
group. Jesus is doing marvelous things through this program.
Please pray that the follow up methods will be effective and those
new believers will grow in their faith.”

MUSLIM
DOMINATED
Pastor Robert F
Kargbo from Sierra Leone
writes:
“Thank you to
InterComm for sending me these wonderful tools. I am operating in
an area mostly dominated by Muslims, but I am now happy that with
the help of these tools there is now a big difference. This is an
area with poor electricity, as well as transportation, but the Torch
Kit is bringing signs of encouragement. Only by using this kind of
tool can I have the outcome that I am now making in this area.”

810 people with 144 salvation decisions.
HAPPY TO HEAR
Rev Samuel Ayamba
from Ghana
writes:
“I thank God for
such a wonderful ministry. The children love to see the Filmstrips
and video shows, and they ask so many questions, and then I can tell
them about Jesus Christ. Some of them felt sad about their sins and
prayed that God would forgive them. They were happy to hear that
God forgave them as they prayed. I’m delighted to have the
privilege to minister to children in this way. Prayer is needed for
this ministry. God bless you in Jesus Name.”

BIRTHDAY
MINISTRY
Evangelist
Dharmanayagam S Nicholson from India
writes:
“Recently we
showed the Filmstrip, THE BROTHERS, in Rajasansi Village. It was a
birthday function with many friends and relatives of that family
present. The drama story was useful in explaining the message of
God’s love and His plan and substitutionary sacrifice to save
sinners. There was a large crowd and all listened attentively, as
the Gospel was shared.”
THANK GOD FOR
THE TORCH KIT
Rev SM Muniyappa
from India
writes:
“Greetings in the
matchless name of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I thank
God for the Torch Kit you have sent for our ministry. We are using
it almost every evening in the rural villages. God is doing
wonderful miracles through this tool. In a short time we have seen
over 1,548 people accept Jesus
Christ
as their personal Savior. All honor and glory to Jesus alone, who
is doing miracles in our ministry. 54 people so far have taken
immersion baptism. Please pray for them and their families that
they, too, might come to know the Lord.”
HEARTBEAT
by Ken Anderson
So many people in
North America are using the word, Incredible, or I should say
mis-using it.
I suppose
Incredible was misused on some TV program, picked up by one of
the late, late night hosts, then misused in a sitcom and on and on,
etc., until the misused meaning became the popular norm.
Psychologists
tend to believe every culture on earth has its own mass mind.
Apparently, that explains the current misused word we are
considering. But wait a moment. Is it a misused word? We’ve done
some research and discovered something obvious. Webster’s
dictionary puts it like this. - “Incredible as an adjective -
not credible, unbelievable, seeming too unusual or impossible to be
possible.”
Do you see what’s
happened. In is a negative word not positive and whatever
follows is negated. Now in this case it negates Credible.
So what does Webster say about Credible? “That which can
be believed.”
The word as
universally used, although negative, now by positive acceptance
becomes positive. Our daughter Melody, began hearing the word,
Incredible, frequently and was asked by some Christian friends
to find an alternative. She went to the computer thesaurus with
this result. “Admirable, amazing, astonishing, astounding,
awesome, awe-inspiring, breathe-taking, excellent, exceptional,
extraordinary, fabulous, grand, great, incomparable, impressive,
magnificent, marvelous, miraculous, notable, outstanding,
overwhelming, remarkable, special, spectacular, splendid, superb,
surprising, terrific, tremendous, wonderful”.
I’ve been
thinking about your reaction as you read many of the Reports and
statistics in the TORCH. I suppose we could exclaim Incredible,
because to some our information may raise doubts. A friend said to
Mrs. A one time, “Doris, I find it hard to believe the number of
people who have made decisions for the Lord recorded in the TORCH,
but I know you, and I’m sure you would not exaggerate. So I praise
the Lord.” We don’t say Incredible or Amazing or
any other superlatives. Instead with my friend, we simply say,
“Praise the Lord!”
