WITH BOTH HANDS
Well over 10 years ago, InterComm received an unsolicited letter
from Mr. Thiagaragan Jesudas of the Laymen’s Evangelical
Fellowship, Madras, India.
“In answer to fervent prayer, God has provided us with a good
used 16mm Film Projector, but we do not have any films to show.
I have become aware that there might be Christian Films
available from you. We wish to use them in open air ministry,
colleges, hospitals, jails, hostels, and village evangelism
where they would be greatly used for winning souls to Christ.”
It took a year to find someone to hand carry his first group of
3 films, but upon arrival, he wrote: “Greetings in Jesus name. I
am very pleased to inform you the films have reached me safely.
Already we showed HUDSON TAYLOR to over 800 people, and the
other films will be very useful too. May the Lord richly bless
InterComm. We covet your prayers for our ministry.”

Mr. Jesudas at a Film
Showing |
Over the years we have solicited prayer for his team and our
faithful prayer warriors have always come through with Heavenly
petitions. AVangelist Jesudas has been a faithful correspondent
and has submitted to date 21 Media Reports. Because of his
faithfulness, as a good communicator, we have sent many other
items over the years Mr Jesudas at a Film Showing to expand his
media ministry.
A total of 31-16mm Films have been provided, 24 Videos in both
the English and Hindi Languages, 1 Torch Kit, and many Projector
Bulbs to keep the ministry Projectors in functioning order.
Always he
has been faithful in ministry and in
reporting.
He wrote: “Many people weep when they see
Pilgrim approach the cross, and after his sins are forgiven and
his burden rolls off his back and down the hill, they identify
what Christ has done for them as well. Please pray for the souls
of those who have seen these films and have accepted Christ that
they, too, will stand for Christ. As often as possible, we
conduct follow up meetings in the places where we show films,
and this allows us to deal with each individual personally.”

Co-Worker Narrating the Film Story |
|
Mr. Jesudas has been blessed with starting
new fellowships in many villages, church planting we call it,
all credited to the seeds of media evangelism. Whether he’s
using Film, Video, or Filmstrip, God continues to bless this
ministry with souls nearly every time opportunities take place.
Over these 10 years, he has reported 287 showings with an
audience of over 56,000 individuals. Often times, more than half
of those present are counseled for salvation. “The Lord is
blessing our ministry and so many people are turning to Christ
even in the midst of opposition by the anti-conversion laws of
our government here in India, the Lord is helping us to move
forward and proclaim the Gospel to needy souls. We rejoice and
are encouraged to know that loving prayer partners are upholding
us in their prayers. Please give our heartfelt gratitude to all
your supporters and please continue to pray for our simple
ministry.”
STARTED A
FELLOWSHIP
Evangelist
Kingsley Anderson from Nsawam, Ghana
writes:
“Praise God I
have started using the Torch Kit. I first showed ASHA, THE
BLIND GIRL WHO COULD SEE, at a village called Dago. There
were about 300 people present. The story touched the heart
and mind of the people in the village so much that at the end
almost all the people, both children, youth, and adults, came
forward and prayed inviting Jesus into their hearts. I
have since started a fellowship at this village. Praise
God for the Filmstrips”.
WE HAD OUR
DOUBTS
Pastor
Stephen Benjamin Kelechukwu of Nigeria
writes:
“We are
really overjoyed that the Torch Kit is such an effective way of
soul winning. We had our doubts of its acceptability in the
light of more modern media in cities like our Lagos area, but
our doubts dissipated in action when almost every non-Christian
who watched the films gave their lives to Christ. The Holy
Spirit works through the Torch Kit and there are great prospects
for greater harvest in the future.”
6 showings
to 302 people with 56 receiving Jesus Christ
PEACE AND
MEANS
Rev Justin
M Manguriko of The Republic of Congo
writes:
“We thank
God for the encouragement we have now through the Filmstrip
Media Kit you have provided. Many people are interested in the
film shows including the children. Many villages have invited
us for film shows as have a variety of churches around our
city. We only pray for peace and the
means to
financially pursue additional village evangelism in distant
places. Please pray for God’s will for our country.”
21
showings to 221 people with 54 receiving Christ.
CHURCHES
CLOSE DOWN
Rev
Francis Sattey of Ghana
writes:
“Wherever
we have gone lately with our video shows, some of the churches
have actually closed down until we leave that place because so
many want to come and see our Christian movies. We always
invite the pastors so that after the film showings, they can
participate in follow up. We only have a small TV, but we are
drawing very large crowds. Our car is too small to carry a
larger unit. In fact, video ministry is drawing people in our
area to Christ, more than any other type of preaching crusades.
Almost everywhere we went, in towns, in villages, wherever,
people tell us that video ministry is so good, and we thank you
for your prayer concern and your provision”
22
showings to 17,100 with 4,020 receiving Christ.
HEARTBEAT
by Ken
Anderson
Are you aware
of your 2 extra senses? Everybody knows about the basic 5
senses. Seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching. But did
you know you have 2 additional senses? Actually these 2 senses
are the most important of all and are rarely recognized much
less utilized. The 6th sense is the sense of God. A sense of
divine being that is greater than ourselves. Every person on
earth has this sense. Note Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He has put
eternity in their hearts.”
The 7th and most important sense exists solely for Christian
believers but is overlooked by multitudes of them. This sense is
documented in Ephesians 3:14-19 with the key facet stated in
verse 19: To know this love, which passes knowledge; that you
may be filled with all the fullness of God. This involves
experiencing fellowship with God in a reality deeper than mere
human emotion. It is to realize and practice that the primary
purpose of mortality is to prepare us for immortality. By
definition, then, the 7th sense is the sense of discipleship.
Missionaries and explorers tell of meeting people in the most
remote corners of the world, who have had absolutely no teaching
on any brand of religion. Even so, these people, without
exception, speak of the force of consciousness which exists
beyond their own spiritual awareness. People, such as you and I,
have a strong sense of spiritual dynamics beyond our human
innocence. Strategic to the 7th sense is Galatians 5:22, 23:
“The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
You will quickly note the lofty lifestyle of the 7th sense, as
compared to conflicts found with working in church activities.
Over the next 2 months HEARTBEAT will take a closer look at the
6th and 7th senses. |
