Powerful words, aren’t they!

Thus ended our first letter from Rev Isaac Oluwatuase in January 2002.  Having just located our address, he wrote, “We need your help for our soul winning ministry to villages.”  Now who wouldn’t enjoy responding to such a request?  Rev. Oluwatuase received a 16mm Film Projector and 4 drama Christian Films to begin his AVangelism (Audiovisual Evangelism) Ministry.  “I promise to use these tools to expand the Kingdom of God, and I will also send you Reports of our activities.” 

Film Crusades were quickly organized and in full swing by early 2003.  “Many people are learning great lessons from the FANNY CROSBY Story.  People who have lost hope are encouraged again and so far 234 souls have accepted Christ.”  We always look forward to a ministry’s first Media Report, as they are usually a great blessing to us.

Rev. Oluwatuase’s wife and ministry partner, Felicia, speaks the Hausa Language, as her mother tongue.  Recently, we were able to provide a complete set of our 5 Hausa Language videos for her to use in outreach opportunities.  So God expands InterComm’s ministries one leader at a time as you pray and give, which makes it all possible.  We believe your Heavenly reward will be great, even if Rev and Mrs Oluwatuase were the only ministry couple ever to be helped by InterComm. 

Recently Isaac wrote, “I have so much interest in this Torch Kit of yours.  I believe it will be very useful, and it would be most welcome.”  This and other items have just recently gotten safely into his hands.

Some of our Godly friends, such as Rev. Oluwatuase, take relationship with us at InterComm very personally.  Perhaps we are of the few who truly show intimate concern for their ministry.  We write to thousands.  Yet, we write one at a time.  Praise God that many sense our personal concern for their unique ministry and for their family.  Isaac wrote, “Well, brother, I have taken you to be one of my closest brother/partner, even as close as my relatives, and I can really open my heart to you.  I am for you, and I believe you are for me.  Special greetings from my dear wife, Felicia, who prays for you always.”

We need God’s wisdom as we communicate with these saints.  This becomes a sacred trust, built through the ministry tools you help us provide.  “We recently took our AVangelism Ministry to many villages.  God helped us record large numbers of souls for His Kingdom.  We give

each convert a New Testament after their instruction.  Thank you so much for all the media materials you have sent.” 

Yes, we equip one Evangelist at a time, and they faithfully take the Good News of Jesus Christ across their country, winning precious souls one at a time.  Even though the rainy season reduces months of ministry, the Oluwatuases have averaged 3 showings per month, so far reaching over 13,000 people with 3,505 individuals responding to the Gospel message.  With their motto - Heaven as our Goal - God is reaching the nation of Nigeria with the Gospel.  Your prayers and participation with InterComm are making it all happen.

ANTI-CONVERSION BILL

Evangelist Paul R Krishnan of India writes:

“We couldn’t use the Torch Kit in some public places after the implementation of the Anti-Conversion Bill.  Many anti-Christian rowdies threatened us in our outdoor attempts.  We have, however, worked at a camp, and we’ve started showing our stories in school and hospitals and other campus sites.  Many students have accepted Jesus as their Lord with the largest number coming from Hindu families.  Please pray that we will continue to win children and young adults through these showings.”

Showings to 625 people with 428 accepting Christ.

PEOPLE ARE CURIOUS

A ministry in Bhutan has reported that a new fellowship was recently started in the village area where they soon hope to be establishing a new church.  They have been teaching non-Christian children and young people. Hindus and Buddhists both occupy the entire village. “People are curious to know more about the Gospel.  After a media showing, many have been very positive and open to the Gospel message.  Recently a family has accepted Christ, and this is greatly encouraging.  Children are attracted to see pictures on the large screen, and we are in the process of taking our Torch showings and creating a recorded cassette version to generate higher interest.  We need a lot of prayer from you for God’s work in this country.”

7 Showings were reported to 42 people with 1 person accepting Christ.   (For security reasons we cannot give you the name of the people involved in this Report.)

2 OLD WOMEN

Evangelist S Uttam Kumar of India writes:

“The Lord gave me the opportunity to present the Torch Kit at a local congregation.  I really thank God for His people gathered there.  They are the real people, who need His comfort.  I showed ASHA, THE BLIND GIRL WHO CAN SEE, and it really lifted up their faith in the Lord, and more importantly at the end of the showing, when I gave an altar

call, 2 old women came forward to give their lives to Jesus Christ.  How I thank the Lord for His grace and support.  Please lift me up in your prayers, as I do the same.”

URDU LANGUAGE MINISTRY

Yousaf Bhatti, who engineered the success of our Urdu Language Recording Project for his Pastor, Yaqub Masih, recently shared that a total of 1600 Video Disk copies of Urdu Language Films we have provided have now been duplicated and are being placed all over the country.  In Pakistan, this is a huge ministry outreach and one for which we should all praise God.  The ministry of these 1600 individual missionaries can be great, because a high number of video decks are available, especially in the larger cities.  We will never know, until Heaven, the results of these missionary tools spread around the country of Pakistan, but through the power of prayer, we can all expect the miracle of God’s salvation one soul at a time.

HEARTBEAT

What does it mean to be in close communion with God?  When we wrote the script for our film, HUDSON TAYLOR, it became clear that here truly was a Christian who walked closely with God.  “God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply,” and “God always gives the very best to those who leave the choice with Him.”  Hudson wrote.  My favorite Hudson quote is,  “There is a living God;  He has spoken in the Bible; He means what He says and will do all He has promised.” 

The emphasis is that each of us can truly walk with God, commune with Him, improve our lives and our witness through divine provision.  This experience led me to a new contemplation of reality, of my view of space/time in general.  I’ve become convinced that in order to contemplate God our starting point must be “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”  I Corinthians 2:9

In essence, then, to contemplate God, to commune with Him, we must recognize and seek a dimension beyond our natural 5 senses, whereby we perceive the visible phenomenon of nature and our universe.  I have come to wonder, in fact, if we should not see the natural realm - however magnificent - from the petals of a rose or the glow of the sunset - as trivial in comparison to the vault God wants us to make through the guidance of His Word and the unction of the Holy Spirit into incredibly vast and enriching contemplation of the Sovereign One - of Himself and of His ways and what He can and wants to do with us.
