IS BETTER TO SHOW
THEM!
|
|
| “Stephen Mitra
Teaching.” |
“God has led
me to work with a special group of people - formerly lepers. 44 such
families are kept isolated on a small hill in the Jumpara area. Most
of them have suffered the loss of fingers, hands, and even feet.
They are an illiterate tribal group called Chakma. Usually I just
tell them Bible stories. I believe, however, it would be much more
effective if I could show them Filmstrips. 4 of these families so
far have accepted Christ and have taken baptism.”
This was our introduction in 2004 to the heart of Stephen Mitra,
one of God’s special servants in Bangladesh. Having recently
attended the Haggai Institute in Singapore, Stephen quickly
responded to our invitation for media assistance. “I also work
with the Sunday school programs in my church. If I get help from you
for Filmstrip Ministry and even video, that would be great.”
Again, Stephen was quick to respond, requesting a Torch Kit,
Bangla Language videos, and other items we had offered. He also
shared, “By this time, 7 of the former leprosy families have now
received Christ. I hope to build them a small church soon. Currently
I am a church deacon. Often I lead prayer services at my church, and
sometimes I am also asked to preach. I am praying that one day I may
serve God full time as an AVangelist. Do please pray with me about
this,”
6 months later, “It is my great joy to inform you that the
package, including the Torch Kit, videos, and other teaching
materials has finally safely arrived. Thanks to God it is all okay.
Everyone here has been praying about this package for so long.
Already I have used the Projector twice. They love it and really
enjoy it. Everyone sends thanks to you. Besides the tribal area, I
can also use these ministry tools here in my church services and at
the local hospital. I am sure God will be glorified through this
ministry. Please pray for me and for the work.”

“ Former Lepers – Hearing & Seeing the Gospel via the Torch Kit. ”
2 Reports have been received from Stephen’s ministry, indicating
at least 71 showings with leprosy groups, hospital ministry, his
church, and a woman’s study group. Numbers attending were
unclear as were decisions. Not long after the tools arrived
spiritual opposition sprang up in the form of a physical attack.
Stephen wrote us in June this year that in February he had
suffered a very painful spinal attack. Only after 4 months has
he recovered and is now capable to again resume ministry.
“With God’s power, I am now healed and planning to go to the
Phankhu area soon. Your Torch Kit will make an eternal
difference there to those needy people. Please give thanks to
the Lord for making me well. Now I desire to follow His plan for
my life.”
We here at InterComm believe it is a great honor to connect in
ministry with people like Stephen Mitra of Bangladesh. Won’t you
please pray with us that God will continue to keep him healthy
and capable of sharing Christ in that heavily Muslim country.

InterComm
SAVE THE TORCH KIT REPORT
A little more
than a year ago, InterComm asked your prayerful assistance to
literally save future access to our Torch Kit. We are now able
to report complete success.
InterComm was able to purchase ownership to all of the plastic
molds, which produce the various necessary components to
manufacture a Torch Kit. InterComm also purchased all of the
needed cutting and forming equipment and miscellaneous parts and
pieces needed to produce a final product. This included lenses,
nuts and bolts, electrical wire and connectors, and even an
inventory of 50 copies each of the 18 drama stories we provide
our international AVangelists.
All assembly now takes place here at the InterComm Studio. We
have already sent out nearly 40 Kits to countries all over the
world. Thanks to you this simple audiovisual tool, useful in the
most remote corners of the world, has been given an extended
life. We have no way to know how many more years this Kit will
find favor around the world. As of today, it remains a very
important option throughout Asia and Africa, for example.
The ongoing needs now come to the forefront. Filmstrip
inventories will soon need to be replenished at a cost of over
$5,000. Postage for shipping 50 Torch Kits is $2,000. Additional
lenses, produced in France, will cost $5,000 and be needed in
the next 2 years. Power Converters, accompanying each Kit, cost
$40 each. You get the idea. In order to continue providing this
trusty light weight, but effective tool for the Gospel, we will
continue to need your faithful investments to make it happen.
“Torch Kit Projector, Power
Supply, & Filmstrips.”
We praise God for this victory that has been won
with your help. Please feel welcome to stop by the
InterComm office at 1520 E Winona Ave., Warsaw,
Indiana if you would enjoy checking out the Torch
Kit assembly area. No appointment needed.
ARABIC LANGUAGE VIDEOS NOW
AVAILABLE
Having partnered with the Arabic Language
Ministry, SAT-7, operating out of Cyprus for many years, it is a
great pleasure and honor for us to announce we now can provide
15 of our films on 7 DVD’s in the Arabic Language. 12 of the
films are lip sync dubbed and 3 are Arabic sub-titled. Now the
real challenge begins. It is not easy to send Christian videos
into Arabic nations. We need your concentrated prayer on a
regular basis that God’s saints, requiring these videos, will be
able to not only ask for them but safely receive them. How will
God provide doors of opportunity for this to take place? Please
pray with us for God’s answers.
11 PER CENT
Pastor
Samuel Katabira from Kampala, Uganda writes:
“The video dramas and Torch Filmstrip messages are very
important for the lives of our people. These ministry tools have
made it possible for about 11% of the total population, to whom
we have shown media, come to Christ. I would encourage InterComm
to always send us more materials to help in God’s mission field.
It is a true fact that audiovisual ministry imparts Gospel
information to people more easily.”
A Report with 103 showings to 15,567 with 1,362 salvation
decisions.
HELL
ETERNALLY
Evangelist
Joseph W Muigai of Kiambu, Kenya writes:
“I showed PILGRIM’S PROGRESS to a high school in the Muthurwa
Secondary School. There I posed the question, ‘Do you think you
are in control when you are rejecting Christ, or is it true that
you are under the influence of the enemy, especially because
none of you want to go to hell eternally?’ As a result of what
they saw, 44 students gave their lives to Christ. This was a
thrill for me. Jesus said, ‘There is rejoicing in Heaven when 1
sinner repents.’ These were more than 1. At another showing I
used an African story at a girls’ rehabilitation center. 11 of
them gave their lives to Christ. These are young girls, 10 to 20
years of age, who have been caught in crime and prostitution.
May God bless you greatly, as you continue with this good work
of equipping laborers in the vineyard.”
A Report of 5 showings to 1,230 people with 120 receiving
Christ.
HEARTBEAT by Ken Anderson
(For a period of time, InterComm will be sharing Heartbeats from
the Ken Anderson Films era.)
Got a map of the world
handy?
At least one day a week if you possibly can spend 5 or 10 minutes
with your map. Let your eyes rove across the various countries. Pray
for the Christians. They are everywhere!
Take Saudia Arabia, for example. There is a movement, very much
underground, of Saudis coming to Christ. Incredible? But true!
A dear Christian brother, who I dare not identify, has the facts and
told me he is in touch with members of the royal family, who are
secret believers. It’s immediate death, if they are found out.
Knowing such information makes the map a bit sacred, doesn’t it?
In the country of Nepal, there used to be official opposition to
Christianity. Parents could not even lead one of their children to
Christ. It was a prison term, if they did. Have you ever prayed for
Christians in Nepal?
For your own enrichment. Try the map strategy. Learn all you can
about Christians in tough places and pray! Pray! Pray!
