“We are full time itinerant
Gospel outreach missionaries, carrying out the Wonderful Words
of Life to many towns, villages, and remote areas, compelling
unbelievers and depraved human beings to accept Jesus Christ
before it’s too late. The 16mm films we are showing are
borrowed and must always be returned. Yet, even though their
condition is very poor quality, God still uses them to bring
many souls to Himself. We want to ask you for some free copies
of your films for our ministry. We are highly qualified on the
mastery of Christian film operation, but we require full time
access of films for our ministerial service.”
This unsolicited
letter arrived at our old Ken Anderson Films address in late
2003 from Evangelist Israel Josiah of Nigeria. He’d
found our address on an old film can label. It was the
beginning of a very challenging relationship, which has required
a totally different style of ministry. Yes, we finally shipped
a first group of media, including a Torch Kit and a large
selection of video, but these tools did not arrive until
December 2004. In the meantime, 8-16mm films, shipped to be
hand carried to Rev Josiah, were left behind by his countryman,
causing great anxiety and a deep sense of loss.
“My whole body and spirit became suppressively
downcast. The sadness engulfed my whole being. My heart became
so heavy I had to cancel the planned Crusade outreach, as I had
no films now of my own for the program. I am asking the Lord to
release me from this dungeon of shock and depression.”

"Rev Josiah & 16mm Film Ministry"
It is not
unusual that God often allows InterComm an extended ministry to
His servants through the written word. Our letters of love and
comfort themselves are a ministry. When our Torch Kit and
videos arrived 2 months later God so blessed his spirit
Evangelist Josiah likewise shared with us,
“The package is right now in our hands. We had
been notified we should come to the Customs Department and pay
12,000 naria ($120) to collect the parcel. So we prayed. When
I explained to the Customs official that these items were simply
to help spread the Gospel, God touched his spirit. He tore up
the bill, and re-wrote the ticket - NO CHARGE! Praise God! He
has answered our prayers. Thank you for your great efforts on
our behalf.”
Prayer for these
saints is another of InterComm’s ministries. We offer a monthly
Prayer Calendar to anyone who will join us in this gift of
prayer for God’s saints. When we have listed an individual, as
we did Rev. Josiah, we write him and share the good news that
God’s people in the USA have lifted him up before the Lord.
“I’m extremely very happy to know there
are people of God praying and interceding on my behalf for the
progress of this ministry. May the Lord exceedingly bless such
people.”
Periods of great
ministry were interrupted by a near-death health crisis and then
complete recovery. Had God spared his life from being taken by
the enemy on a ministry trip? Only Heaven will tell. A
wonderful Media Report arrived, covering ministry activity from
12/2004 to 12/2005. Even through great physical trials, 26
showings took place to over 3,100 people with over 1000 reported
accepting Christ. This September he wrote,
“I have never before received from any source
such Christian encouragement, which touched my heart, not since
I became a Christian. You have helped me through many hurdles
and discouraging situations. For this I thank you.”
Recently Rev. Josiah’s son was
shot in the leg, an innocent victim of a nearby bank robbery.
But this, too, opened the door for God to encourage his spirit
through our words of fellowship and prayer. We share Rev.
Josiah’s story to encourage your ongoing prayer for God’s
servants around the world and our ability to bless them through
the ministry of InterComm.

WHO WAS THIS MAN,
KEN ANDERSON?
A Tribute by Doris Anderson
(Mrs. A) - Part 3 of 3
Churches in the late 40's were
using slide presentations, but were not yet ready to think that
movies could be used in sanctuaries. After a gradual
acclimation process, including much advertising, churches began
to warm to the possibility of using Christian films. Following
2 assignments with Baptista Films, some of Ken’s Youth For
Christ friends asked, “Ken, do you have any more stories that
could be made into films?” Through ongoing encouragement
and the urging of his church and friends, a Board was organized
for the new Christian film company and Gospel Films was launched
in Muskegon, Michigan. This led to hundreds of progressive
churches purchasing movie projectors and ordering films.
Years later, sensing an urgency
to produce films internationally, we left everything behind,
stepped out on faith, and started Ken Anderson Films in
Warsaw/Winona Lake, Indiana.
In the course of his life, Ken
changed from being an entertainer to an encourager. As an
encourager, let me explain there are numerous people around the
world today in Christian leadership whom Ken met. When he
sensed a spark of talent, he would listen to their dreams, how
they might serve the Lord, after which, Ken often challenged
them - “Go for it.” Many did! A few in later years even
came back and thanked him.
He accepted God’s call for his
life, even though it was different from what he had originally
thought he should do. After his initial health problems, Ken
became the one who was always first up the mountain and carrying
the heaviest loads, who, then, at the end of life, found himself
relying on others to help him with even the smallest physical
tasks. But most important of all, the lack of confidence he had
years earlier was supplanted by an unshakeable confidence in
God, that he lived out in all areas of his life.
In our home, Ken
pictured himself as the love maker, spiritual guide, counselor,
and provider for me and our 7 children. In their individual
tributes at Ken’s Memorial, each of our children echoed the
success he had achieved in these areas. Our youngest summed it
up in her words, saying he taught her to
“have fun, trust in the Lord, and make a
difference.”
The common
greeting now whenever I meet someone these days is, “How are
you doing?” My answer is “I think
I’m doing all right and resting on God’s faithfulness to His
promises.”
I know Ken is in God’s care and that those of us left on this
earth are to continue in the ministry God has entrusted to us as
long as we are here.

SOUL HARVEST
Mr Meshack
Zwame of Swaziland
shared:
“We try to
break down our ministry outreaches to smaller groups, which are
more manageable. We move from one location to another in the
same vicinity. Often times we use school rooms for the
showings. We’ve seen many people getting to know the Lord,
thus, creating a Soul Harvest for God and His glory.”
36 showings
to 1313 people, 470 salvation decisions.
BLESSINGS OF HEAVEN
Pastor
Farhad Shahzad of Pakistan
writes:
“I am very
thankful to you for the love shown us in sending the Torch Kit.
It is an excellent blessing for us. I have just taken it to the
village of WazirKhan Wala. I showed them the story of THE
BROTHERS, and it was a wonderful blessing for these people to
see this Filmstrip. Nearly 100 people gathered, and the Gospel
has been presented clearly, because of this Heavenly gift, the
Torch Kit.
TURNING TO THE LORD
Evangelist
EO Okereke of Nigeria
writes:
Our ministry
team are very grateful to God for providing us materials and
giving us an opportunity to propagate the Gospel through media.
We have observed that Nigerians are motivated when they see
Gospel action films. The Gospel through media is very important
and many souls are turning to the Lord, because of this media.
They had
showings to 7,426 people with 3,058 accepting Christ.
