FOR A SEASON
Have you ever
experienced a season of ministry? While enjoying our Thanksgiving
feast, we have all been exceedingly thankful to God for our great
and many blessings! Now we move forward towards Christmas and the
celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We
also call these celebrations Seasons!
Serving the Lord
often occurs in Seasons. More recently, we talk about such times as
paradigm shifts when our work takes on a new vision or direction. It
is not unusual for many of our international friends to enter into
AVangelism and likewise enjoy a wonderful season of God’s blessing,
and then move on to other challenges.

| “ Justina Utuka
(to the left) Leading Worship" |
This is such a
story. We feature Mrs Justina Utuka from Madina-Accra, Ghana.
Following her training at the Haggai Institute in Singapore, Justina
enthusiastically responded to our 1st letter back in 1993. She was a
bit concerned. She had married a man in the USA. When the time
arrived for returning to Ghana for anticipated ministry, he would
not accompany her. If she was to serve God in Ghana, it would be on
her own. God did call Justina to serve Him in her beloved country,
Ghana, and in faith she returned home to honor her commitment to her
first love - Jesus Christ.
Justina had access to a 16mm Film Projector, but no films. Could we
help? Some friends in Ohio provided the cost of shipping 5 films to
Ghana, and these were sent in 1994. “I am pleased to read you are
willing to help me with your free films. This will make my
evangelism easier, as media presents the message of Christ often in
a more clearly understood way.” Films sent included PILGRIM’S
PROGRESS and some Bible stories for children. God’s protection
brought them safely into her hands in 2 months’ time. No Reports
were received the 1st year, but a letter finally arrived in July of
1995, “Counseling and other church activities has kept me very
busy. However, I have used the films and many souls came to Christ
during a crusade we held. We also used the films in a new church we
recently planted. Soon I will be going out to the villages, and I
will use the films there.”
In 1996, Justina joined forces with The Great Commission Movement of
Ghana. Thanks to their equipment her AVangelism program really took
off. In 1996 alone, we received Reports of 47 showings to 24,913
people with 6,800 souls responding to the Gospel invitation.
Justina shared, “The films were very attractive to these people,
and many willingly gave their lives to Christ. The pictures are of
the converts in the villages. They are praying and crying to God to
forgive them their sins. Some are dancing to praise God. I held a
2-day training seminar with them after they received Christ.”

“ New Converts Dancing and Praising the
Lord ”
Over the years
Reports trickled in and an occasional letter. In 2004, Justina
transferred all of her films to The Great Commissions Movement.
Other ministry opportunity, mostly with children, had opened other
doors for her. In that 10 year season of media ministry, however, we
had received Reports of 116 showings to 62,815 people with 21,318
souls choosing to follow Christ. Justina refused to remain in
comfort here in the USA and returned home, her home in Ghana, to
serve her Lord. Just imagine the treasure she has laid up in Heaven
through her acts of obedience. No we don’t have contact with her any
longer, but do pray with us that God will continue to exceedingly
bless Justina in all she may now be pursuing for eternity’s sake.
ALL NEW AFRICAN “PILGRIM’S
PROGRESS"
A few
years ago, we were contacted by a group in Nigeria, asking
whether it would be possible for them to receive the English
transcript for PILGRIM’S PROGRESS. They were interested in
filming a completely African version of this classic in the
primary language of their country, Yoruba.
They managed to pull it off and did a reasonably good job of it.
Certainly, well enough that we are sure many people will
populate Heaven because of their effort. The work was headed up
by Mr Gbenga Dele-Ajayi. This is the 1st attempt by any
group to duplicate an original Ken Anderson Film, and although
we could discuss technical issues, we are overall pleased with
their effort and wanted you to rejoice with the Lord that this
new tool will be available in their country to encourage men,
women, and children to accept Jesus Christ. Do please pray for
its success.
TRIED TO READ THE BOOK
“The Video
Disks you sent me are going to be a great help for our ministry
here in India. I screened the film JOURNEY TO THE SKY, the life
story of our famous Indian Christian, Sadhu Sundar Singh, and it
is a very challenging film. God will bless it in its use in our
country. I often tried to read the book, PILGRIM’S PROGRESS, but
I never succeeded. Now I have the privilege to watch the film,
and I was really thrilled. Thank you so much for this wonderful
provision from your side. Thank you so much for praying for our
team. We are 4 in number. We do street singing, preaching in the
villages, and distribute Gospel books and tracts, as well as
show your Christian films at night. We go out for 3 days at a
time. Do please pray for this ministry. We are grateful to God
for using Christians in America to provide us with these
wonderful tools for AVangelism. Please remember us, as we try to
reach the Banjari Tribal Villages in our district. Yours in
Jesus’ glorious service, C. Solomon Lesdher Singh of India”
CHANGING OUR
NATION
Rev Nelson
Usman from Nigeria writes:
“Our crusades this year have really caught fire. Hearts are
stirred. Minds are convinced, and more people have responded for
the Gospel, as we used your wonderful films and the Torch
Projector. We used the Torch Kit and operated it with a car
battery at one location where 20 souls came to watch the
drama story, 10 of them gave their lives to Jesus, including
an entire Muslim family. We thank you for your prayer and moral
support. What a great joy it has brought to me!”
A Report of 10 showings to 1,062 viewers and 304 people
responding for salvation.
MORE
POWERFUL TOOL
Pastor
Anthony Dixon from Liberia writes:
“It was hard for me to accept that the Torch Kit might be a
more powerful tool than a 16mm Projector, but now I do believe
it is. Just after purchasing a dry cell battery, I decided to
visit the outskirts of our city, where we had started a new
church. The very first day, even though I struggled to explain
the drama story, THE YOUNG HUNTER, in our Liberian English, we
still had more than 60 people turn out and 11 chose to make a
decisions to follow the Lord. Later, I had an appointment to
speak with a family nearby, and about 30 people joined in to
watch another Torch Kit story. 9 people made a decision
for the Lord after that presentation. It was so wonderful.
At the climax of the last film showing, the Projector lamp fell
out of the back and dropped on to the table. I was sure it was
broken, and I prayed and put it back into the Projector, and it
began working again! I praise God because He is doing mighty
things and little things among His people.”
VIETNAM
PROJECT
Thanks
to the technology of Skype, we are able to speak to our Project
Coordinator in Vietnam, Miss Khiem Tran, quite often. She
updates us on the receipt of each Video Master and the
duplication process. She tells us that now all 5 video masters
are in her possession and duplication is being planned.
We know, for example, that 2,000 copies each of PILGRIM’S
PROGRESS and HUDSON TAYLOR have already been duplicated and are
spreading across the country. But Khiem reported that 50 copies
have gone to Hanoi. This is a real answer to prayer, as the
capital city of Vietnam is much more restricted to the Gospel
than the south. To know that copies of these 2 films are already
ministering in this city is exciting to us. Won’t you pray with
us that God will bless this effort above and beyond all we can
imagine! Thanks so much.
THE LAST HEARTBEAT
By Mrs. A
From March 2006 until present, InterComm has shared
Heartbeats from the Ken Anderson Films years. These have now
nearly all been shared. We have asked Mrs. Ken (Doris) Anderson to
finish out 2008 with the Last Heartbeat!
“At 2:20 am, March 12, 2006,
Ken Anderson’s physical heart stopped beating. His earthly journey
finished, no more new Heartbeat Columns would be written.
InterComm’s heartbeat has not stopped, however. In fact, InterComm
is reaching more people than ever through Media Evangelism to far
corners of the globe. Many of the places you are reading about in
the news these days include Christians equipped with
language-appropriate videos and Torch Kits, some of whom are risking
their lives just to show a few more of their countrymen the way of
salvation. Do you realize that because of your faithfulness in
prayer and financial support InterComm has completed Language
Recording Projects in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Burundi, Mongolia,
Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sri Lanka,
India, Philippines, and Vietnam? Now, because of your help, each
nation has new souls recorded in Heaven. Consider also the numerous
Torch Kit and video placements in scores of other countries. Thank
you, each of you, who are still praying and giving.
This would be a perfect time to re-start your giving if you’ve had
to stop - or talk to someone you know, who would also be blessed if
they realized how they could have a part in this exciting worldwide
ministry reaching the unreached. Yes, we now say farewell to the Ken
Anderson Heartbeat articles, but the Torch Reports from our friends,
who are out in the battlefield, the front lines, showing Jesus
Christ as the Way, the Truth, and the Life, these will continue to
be shared each month. None of us knows the time and date of our last
heartbeat, but we know Who knows the number of our days - God.”
P.S. Beginning next month look for A PILGRIM’S PROGRESS!
