CAMBODIA - SUCCESS PRAYER WORKS

I find it uniquely interesting when some of our dubbing projects so obviously require major answers to prayer much more than others do. Certainly we sought God’s guidance through each step of last year’s Vietnam Project, but the dedicated team at work prior to our arrival and throughout our working together were more like a well-oiled machine, definitely a great answer to prayer. But in only one way can we compare Cambodia. God did answer all of our prayers, and God did give success with all requested work completed on time. Praise God for awesome Prayer Warriors this year. 2 Thessalonians 1:11.

"Project Leader, Bunsam Rath"

Our first major prayer hurdle was for leadership. Normally when we complete our country visit and set-up meetings, leadership is in place. The man who stood for leadership in our meetings never again has communicated with us. No leader emerged for over 12 months. We were greatly blessed when Mr. Bunsam Rath stepped forward in answer to month’s of prayer and assumed leadership. Upon arrival in Phnom Penh a crisis immediately occurred regarding our recording site and ownership of the finished work. Although delayed for 3 days, God uniquely answered our prayer, and recording did begin in earnest that week. Major construction work was taking place all around our little studio and continued throughout our 5-week recording session. Not even irregular power shortages, however, could keep our team from moving forward - 9 hours a day, 6 days a week - until all 1,450+ lines were in the can, as we say.

It is exciting to see talent emerge. No one coming to our microphone had any experience with our professional style of lip sync recording. Only Bunsam, a talented recording artist, had studio savvy. God blessed his love and vision to participate in our Project by using his voice for our 2 most difficult roles - Apollyon in PILGRIM’S PROGRESS and Sadhun Sundar Singh in JOURNEY TO THE SKY. He moved through each difficult line with such ease, again a great answer to prayer. We’ve seen such ability before but not in every Project. How gracious of the Lord, when He provided this need in Cambodia. Our final recording room blessing came from Bunsam again directing the all-important Voice Choir from PILGRIM’S PROGRESS. The Voice Choir underlays Scripture throughout the drama and has seldom been completed with such sensitivity and quality.

"Khmer Language Voice Choir"

Of course, God blessed us with excellent health, travel safety, and with Dan and Rose Blosser. You see, it was the Blosser’s, who we met in Jakarta, Indonesia back in 2001 who first put it on our hearts to pray about someday coming to help the emerging church in Cambodia. Staying in their home, eating American style food, and enjoying daily fellowship with these kindred spirits was a huge plus to our daily need while away. Luke 6:38 became a reality in our lives, because so many of you prayed. Now please continue to pray for my brother, Ken D, as he edits the 5 films for a timely return for ministry in Cambodia. May God richly bless you as you do.

2010 GIFTING

We praise God for each of you who have given your financial gifts to InterComm in 2009. We expect to finish the year with most bills paid. Do please pray about whether you are able to give a special year-end gift and/or increase your monthly, quarterly, or yearly gifting. Will you? We have lost many members of our giving team this past year, but we will continue, with your help, to carry forward this unique ministry of providing Media Evangelism Tools to God’s servants around the world in 2010.

GOSPEL THROUGH FILMS

Mr Solomon D Nyeduala from Ghana writes:

“Thank you for your cooperation. Our Media Ministry can begin because you have made these Media Tools, like the Torch Kit and Christian videos, available for us. I am convinced that this film ministry will win more souls for Christ because people in my country are attracted when they see the Gospel through films. Thank you all.”

NOT A DIME

"Rev Oppong-Kwarteng with 16mm Projector/Films from InterComm"

Rev Benedict Oppong-Kwarteng from Ghana writes:

“We praise the Lord for His protection in bringing us the 16mm Film Projector with Replacement Bulbs and a supply of your Christian films safely. It is a great joy to receive these tools for evangelism, and they are an answer to prayer. As a matter of fact, the Customs Department did not charge a dime for the package. Thank you and God bless you and your team for this fantastic work and for keeping your word. We are sending some pictures to show our appreciation. Please keep on praying for me and my team and also for more volunteer workers to be touched by the love of the Lord Jesus, as we seek to win people for the Lord in towns and villages and remote locations.”

"16mm Film Showing in the Village"

SEEING & HEARING

Mr Major Zothansanga from Myanmar writes:

“The video disks have been very helpful for showings in individual homes, and the Torch Kit continues to be a wonderful tool where people can understand the Gospel because of the cultural stories that are useful, especially for Burmese people. One of our showings took place in the Karen State. Many young people and uneducated people attended, but they can understand the presentations because of seeing and hearing the Gospel presented.”

A Report of 37 showings, 903 people viewing, and 200 responded to the Gospel.

ADAM & EVE

Mr Rhino Lou Rivera of the Philippines writes:

“We held a Torch Kit showing during the graduation of our Daily Vacation Bible School where 50 people were present. About 30 of them raised their hands indicating they wished to accept Christ as their Savior. We showed the Filmstrip, CAT & THE CUSTARD, and compared this to Adam and Eve, who had disobeyed God, and how they were separated from God because of their sin. From January to April 1, I was able to train 34 people in small group ministry that responded to this same Filmstrip story. Now we are inviting their parents to watch the show, and we are praying that more souls will come to Christ through the ministry of the Torch Kit. I thank and bless God for the materials sent to me to be used for the extension of His Kingdom.”

BEYOND THE HINTERLAND

Evangelist John Sokro Kwaku from Ghana writes:

“We thank God for the wonderful Media Programs you provided us with your video movies. These films are changing people’s lives from darkness to light. Any time we launch these programs, we minister to a lot of people. We appreciate these programs very much because they help spread the Gospel into the hinterlands. We thank God, and we look forward for the wonderful changes amongst the people. By His grace we shall win more people for Christ in the future.”

28 showings to 13,855 people with 468 decisions for Christ.

A PILGRIM’S PROGRESS
by Lane Anderson

Japan, Part 3

Eating in Japan was no big deal for me. I did quite well in the rice bowl department. As young children, we had mastered chopsticks Dad had brought back from his China trip in 1948. Most Nationals were quite surprised to see a young American use them so casually. What really amazed me in Japan was eating rice paper or food wrapped in rice paper that you just don’t unwrap. What a concept. It simply dissolves on your tongue. So many new tastes and smells. I still wonder what some of them might have been.

We overnighted in a small Japanese motel. The courtyard was a beautiful garden with Koi Ponds. Our beds were mats on the floor. The bath was an all new experience. It’s what’s called an Ofuro. You step down into the floor flush tub about 5 feet deep. Once in, hot water raises the temperature slowly, providing one of the greatest deep soaks I’ve ever enjoyed. Our hostess, Phyllis Brannen, was not just an artist she was an exceptionally gifted talent. Her skills had already provided film title cells for many previous Gospel Films Productions. Thus, part of our visit was actually business, as she and Dad discussed future Ken Anderson Films titling projects. This work also benefitted her family by providing extra income always needed by missionaries. Even today, we have in our film vault one of the series of pictures drawn back in this era, a story called INDIAN GIRL. Many years later we would produce the story as an animated film we now call RAINBOW.

As our plane departed Tokyo, Mt Fuji was glistening in its first snow covering of the year. Our goodbyes were sweet, but we were on our way to Taipei, Taiwan for final logistics planning for a dramatic film being produced for Overseas Crusades.
